USA GREENS/GREEN PARTIES
------------------------
The Greens/Green Party in the United States is part of the worldwide
movement that promotes ecological wisdom, social justice, grassroots
democracy and non-violence.
Greens in the United States are organized into state Green Parties and
Green Locals. There are two organizations, The Greens/Green Party USA
and the Green Politics Network, that help Greens network with each other
at the national level. Greens are involved in all areas politics and
public education from running candidates, to promoting legislation and
building neighborhoods and communities.
Since many Greens prefer to place their energies at the local level,
you are much more likely to see us working at the community level than
at the state or national level. However, as we grow as an organization
we will naturally become more involved in state and national legislation
and running candidates at those levels.
There are currently 74 Green Party candidates running for elected office
in the November 1994 elections.
