<< RightwingWatch Friday (7-26) | Main | Competition Killed Telecoms >> July 26, 2002Clinton Made the Corps Rip Us OffOkay-- this is a good one. Here's a conservative blaming Clinton's 1993 tax bill for the market meltdown. Why? Because it restricted tax deductions for excessive corporate pay, so it forced companies to look for a loophole in offering stock options, leading to even worse harm to the public. This is kind of like an argument that by trying to hide your wallet from picketpockets, you forced a criminal to beat you up to find the money. So it's your fault for even trying to protect yourself.
