<< Supremes Go After Family Leave Act | Main | Bush Misses Point on Medical Malpractice >> January 16, 2003GOP Proposes Extending RecessionOkay, Bush proposes a "stimulus" tax plan that injects most of its money years down the road. And just to make sure the present economic problems are not fixed, the GOP is proposing wide-ranging spending cuts. So let's cut spending that might increase employment and put money into urban areas for homeland security and other infrastructure improvements. Then take the money and give it to the wealthy who may or may not spend it. With this kind of smart management of the budget, it's hardly surprising that Bush no longer has a majority approving of his handling of the economy.
