<< GOP: Repudiate YAF | Main | Young, Educated, and Jobless - in Turkey >> August 29, 2003More on Lies by FoxIn the original Fox News story smearing Bustamante, the article stated: "At a July 4 celebration in 1996, members of the group, who call themselves Mechistas, were videotaped attacking black and white Americans protesting illegal immigration." One problem-- the group responsible was a leftwing sectarian group called the Progressive Labor Party, who both the PLP and the victims agreed were involved. See this post at commiewatch for more details. Just all proof that Fox is "without merit" and liars in the service of rightwing smears. Posted by Nathan at August 29, 2003 12:35 PM Related posts:

Posted by: The Political Times at August 29, 2003 10:39 PM Yes-- and he immediately apologized. All of us have racism of various kinds in our unconscious-- it's unavoidable in a culture steeped in stereotypes. The question is what people do with their conscious minds and hearts-- and Bustamante has been the friend of civil rights for all races since his career began. And on election day, I guarantee that Bustamante will get by far the largest share of the black vote. So anyone looking to indulge in outrage on their behalf is just engaging in a different form of racism. Gov. Cruz Bustamante.... Gee, I may go down to the high school Mecha car wash to see how well this GOP slime job is attracting new voters.
