Utah's legislature is always a treat. They have thus far banned abortion procedures not used in the state in over a decade, are about to bar "indirect" funding for abortions (so you can shut down state funding to hospitals); last year they legislated out of existence two state health inspector jobs because an inspector did his job and ordered an apartment complex to make the swimming pool water safe. The list goes on and on.

Wow, these people are actually voted into office? I thought they were mostly confined to putting up roadside billboards in places like Idaho.

Georgia is discussing slavery (and the civil war) out the ying-yang. They've moved it up from 11th grade to the 8th grade (on top of the initial teachings that are in the 5th grade) with various topics pertaining to the effects being taught throughout high school. i can't imagine these people being happy about bush's big spending, anti-states' rights and pro-immigration policies.

I live in UTah and get a big kick out of our legislature. Utah has a lot of little whistle stop towns and the crazies mostly come from there. In a lot of ways, it is a very progressive state.
