Texas Belongs to Progressives

A common heard fear among progressives is that "fast growing states" are more conservative and Republican than so-called Blue States.

Yet much of that growth is driven by new immigrants, in places like Texas which just became majority non-white. Now, many of those new people can't vote.

Yet.

But as they gain citizenship, or their children born in the US gain citizenship, the politics of these states will shift, in many cases dramatically.

So anyone with a long view should recognize that geography is not destiny. Instead, demographics are more likely to rule the day, and that is far more likely to favor progressive politics in many of those Red states in the future.
