<< Bush Poll Drop Deeper than It Looks | Main | Tech Tuesday (9-30) >> July 30, 2002Sleeper Maine Senate RaceOne place the WorldCom-Enron meltdowns could really matter is Maine, where the Democratic challenger, Chellie Pingree, to Maine's Susan Collins actually has a track record of writing a new tougher corporate accountability law for Maine back in 1998. Along with health care as an issue, Pingree might have enough to pull off a upset there. Posted by Nathan at July 30, 2002 01:55 AM Related posts:
Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: CommentsHey, I just wanted to comment--as someone living in Maine--I don't think Pingree has a chance. Collins has big money and rural maine is largely satisfied with her. LAst time I drove out a few hours inland the Republican signs outnumbered demoratic ones some three to one. There are some grumblings in the big cities (i.e., Portland and Lewiston), but the majority is solidly "red state", middle class, quiescient Republicans. --Frank Posted by: Frank at July 30, 2002 09:49 AM Hey all, I live in Maine, Vinalhaven to be exact which is right next door to pIngree's town of North Haven. Pingree is a hypocrite who doesn't know the difference between right and left. Her prescription drug pln makes no sense and she desn't ealize that it only hurts Maine.
