I can't recall an administration becoming so overtly involved in a western election. The usual diplomatic reaction to the labor minister's alleged "Hitler" remark would have been a "no comment" or a "not helpful" response. Not only did Ari the Flack go out of his way to attack the minister, but Condi did the same. Now I read today where Bush and Schroeder are not returning one another's calls, Rumsfeld says he has no plans to meet with the German defense minister, and Ari the Flack is still hammering away at the soon to be ex-minister.

Not only will this administration not tolerate dissent at home, they won't tolerate it abroad.
