<< Bush Jobs: $6 per Hour | Main | Denying Students Aid for Drug Use >> March 12, 2004Refused C-Section: Charged w MurderOne more round on the abortion wars-- a woman was afraid of getting a Caesarean to deliver her children. Her refusal to get a C-section led to the stillborn birth of one of her twins, so local prosecutors are charging her with murder for ignoring her doctor's advice. This is why I support abortion as an absolute right on demand to the second of delivery. Otherwise, the state takes on the right to dictate medical decisions. If refusal to act becomes the new standard of homicide liability, let's start with the politicians. How about indicting those who don't fund Food Stamps or AIDS drugs for every child's death in the country or the world who dies of malnutrition or disease? Read Body and Soul for more. Those people tend to vote republican. Now, we have fetus rights vs. privacy rights. Posted by: e at March 12, 2004 10:14 PM Gonna get around to that terrorist bombing thing in Spain any time soon? Posted by: Drew at March 15, 2004 01:03 PM A caesarian operation is risky and scary. She obviously wanted the children or she would have gotten an abortion. Oftentimes the decision for a caesarean is a last minute one and for one thing more expensive than a regular delivery. Is everyone sure that the doctor's decision based on sound medicine and not greed???
