It would make a lot more sense to say, for instance 3% of GDP per annum than umpteen trillion dollars when few people know how big a slice of the cake that is. Also, adding up the cumulative effect of tax cuts is a bit of a waste of time. If the economy were growing fast enough, those tax cuts would gradually sink into insignificance. I doubt it will -- very probably because of the tax cuts. And, of course, the transfer of wealth from poor to rich is a moral issue quite aside from the economic one.
