<< The Threat to Card Check Organizing | Main | The Jobs Report >> August 05, 2004Marine from Control Room Pushed OutMost of you probably didn't see the movie Control Room-- although you should as soon as possible-- but in that movie about Al Jazeera and the lameness of the US media, one American official stood out, a young marine working in public relations for the military. Marine Lt. Josh Rushing was loyal to the US effort, yet open-minded in trying to understand the Arab world's viewpoint, all the better it was evident to him to make the case for the US war. But his reasonable views expressed in the movie apparently made him a target for the Pentagon brass and he has been harassed out of the military. No wonder we are losing the war on terrorism. Anyone who actually tries to understand why folks in that part of the world might not like us gets fired or driven out of public service. All that leaves are the liars and self-delusionary folks who believed we'd be welcomed with flowers. Posted by Nathan at August 5, 2004 04:03 PM Related posts:
