Kerry on TradeFor those tracking the 2004 contest, the roll call vote on "fast track" trade authority marked a rather major divide between Edwards and Kerry in wooing the labor vote. Edwards, no doubt also reflecting the distressed textile mills of his home state, voted with labor on the issue, while Kerry joined the GOP in giving Bush the power to negotiate trade deals without amendment by Congress.
