It's Official: Bush Lies

The General Accounting Office, an investigative arm of Congress, said on Wednesday that advertisements and brochures prepared by the Bush administration to publicize a new Medicare law, although not illegal, misrepresented the prescription drug benefits that would be offered to millions of elderly and disabled people.

What's great about this is that there has now been an official body stating the fact that Bush is lying to seniors about the benefits of the Medicare bill, something that can be cited in ads throughout the year.

Bush's folks-- from the 911 ads to the government Medicare ads-- seem to be overplaying their hand at every turn and getting called on it. You get the sense that three years of compliant media have just made them stone stupid, and you wonder if they even have a team in place in the White House that can compete in a competitive environment-- or whether their internal echo chamber is preventing them understanding how badly they're getting slapped down day after day.
