<< Total Work Hours Drop | Main | Bush's incompetence >> July 02, 2004Watch the RatsIf you want to measure the danger of a storm, watch the rats abandoning ship. Or the K Street lobbyists. But I repeat myself: After a long hiring drought, Democrats are coming back into vogue on K Street. . . Lobbying managers, anticipating a possible switch in partisan leadership, are simply planning accordingly. . .This spring the Republican-leaning Business Roundtable ignored well-publicized entreaties by GOP activists and hired a former aide to a Democratic senator to lead its efforts on two of its highest priorities: corporate governance and tort reform.Tom Delay is crying in his beer. Posted by: zoe kentucky at July 5, 2004 06:53 PM I wouldn't count them out just yet; think about Posted by: Ruester at July 10, 2004 01:15 AM I work for a large trade association (major lobbyist) in Washington and our organization just picked up two new high level employees: one was a press secretary to a major cabinet secretary and the other was a Bush-Cheney 04 press operative. I'm not sure why they left, but I did hear one employee who works with them complain that they were slanting association press releases in pro-Bush ways (surprise, surprise).
