A Blow for Open Justice
This article highlights a real gain for justice, the decision by South Carolina's 10 active federal trial judges to ban secret legal settlements. Essentially, manuafacturers of deadly products and other evil doers often buy the silence of plaintiffs, leaving other sufferers of the same crimes in the dark about the harm, sometimes allowing continuing harm by the defendant.
