Blackmail on Child Tax Credit

The GOP are just disgusting. They write a bill to help their wealthy friends and deliberately leave the working poor without help. Then when they are called on it, they hold any tax change hostage to even more tax cuts for the well off-- in this case demanding that if the working poor get the tax credit, then so should richer families making as much as $150,000 per year.

It's not like those families didn't get a lot of tax cuts from rate rollbacks, "marriage deduction" adjustments, and the dividend tax cut. But no, the GOP is demanding that in order to restore the roughly $3.5 billion for tax credits for the working poor, the Dems must agree to spend double that amount on these wealthier folks.
