The Recount Was Not the Florida Scandal

Let's be straight-- messing around with vote procedures in close elections was not invented in Florida in 2000. The Supreme Court intervention was legally outrageous and the Bush actions disgusting, but the really unprecedented scandal of the election was a private corporation was hired to illegally "scrub" voters from the polls.
