Davis Signs Health Care Law

Today Davis signed the health care reform law-- the most radical step forward for universal health care since the Clinton proposals died in 1994.

You know-- I have mixed feelings about the recall at this point. Davis might never have signed this law or a range of other progressive bills without the need to keep his base happy.

So even if Davis is defeated on Tuesday, progressives may have gotten signed more important bills in the last month than they might have been able to push through in the next couple of years. As Harold Myerson wrote back in August, Davis may end up being more remembered for his last 60 days of legislation than most politicians are for their first 100 days.
