And now Colombia?
As country after country in South America has elected left-leaning governments, local elections in Colombia show that this country-- long the focus of the US government's attention-- may be joining the rejection of the "Washington Consensus."
Not only was a referendum to strengthen the right-leaning President rejected, a former Communist union leader was elected mayor of Bogota, the capital city.
