What is a Union Corporate Campaign?

I came across this 2002 Congressional testimony by Professor Jarol B. Manheim, which is one of the better descriptions I've seen of how unions put pressure on corporations to sign union card check agreements.

He's not necessarily friendly to labor, but he does give a good description based on his research.

It's also worth paying attention that the GOP is holding hearings on Union Dues and Corporate Campaigns- a sign that they don't like it and would like to figure out legislation to stop it.
