Buddy Ro Profiled in NATION
My friend Ro has been giving Tom Lantos a challenge over his pro-war position and The Nation's John Nichols has a nice profile, comparing Ro to the wave of primary challenges back during the Vietnam War that elected people like Ron Dellums and Bella Abzug and Father Robert Drinan to office.
As the article notes:
Win or lose, however, [alternative weekly] Bay Guardian executive editor Tim Redmond says, "Khanna has done what you would hope a challenger would do. He has forced the incumbent to come home, to answer questions about his votes on issues like the war and the Patriot Act. This is exactly what primaries are for."And Ro has done a great service in holding Lantos accountable to those questions.
