GOP Dissent v Bush on Outsourcing
Bush made a speech denouncing those targeting outsourcing as a problem as "economic isolationists", a speech that has some rightwingers upset, as the linked thread from FreeRepublic shows.
I'm pro-trade, but Bush can't please anyone with a policy that encourages job loss at home and labor exploitation abroad. Kerry's "fair trade" position of promoting trade where possible, but pushing hard on labor and environmental standards to level the playing field between domestic and overseas production is far more of a winner in the present economic context.
And Bush may lose some parts of his base that he might be taking for granted.
