Weirdest WiFi Problem

Away from politics for a second, I have the weirdest wifi problem. When I visit a friend wth my laptop, who has wifi connected to their broadband modem, I can access every website except...the New York Times. It won't load. This happens every day and I can never access it.

Any ideas on what could be wrong with a wifi configuration to lead to blocking just one website? Something odd about the New York Times site?

I can access the NY Times on wifi at my apartment, so it does seem like it has to be something in the broadband configuration, but it's just the oddest problem.
