One More Reason Against War

One reason I had some mixed feelings about the Iraq war was that the devastation of sanctions against Iraq had led to so many children's deaths. So however bad the war itself, there was some hope that the fall of Saddam and the end of sanctions would save lives being ended by sanctions.

But a UN monitor has estimated that malnutrition has doubled since the fall of Saddam. So even the faint pragmatic hope that the war would end the hunger and malnutrition of the sanctions period has proven futile.
