GOP Pushing $4000 Drug "Benefit"

A House panel on a partisan vote passed a prescription drug plan that would cost seriously ill elderly over $4000 per year. The defeated Democratic alternative would cost such elderly half as much.
...As an article in the Times outlines, the GOP is promoting their plan with phony "astroturf" support from a rightwing "Seniors" group called United Seniors funded by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.
...The rightwing uses this as a standard tactic-- create a front group funded by business to "balance" real membership-funded groups like AARP or the Sierra Club. It's nice to see that the Times is checking out were the money is coming from for once.
