Neoliberalisms Bubble Bursts

A good article on the rising Latin Americans protest against neoliberal economics. The bubble of the 90s was accompanied in that region by a doubling of unemployment-- despite the promises of jobs and wealth by those promoting privatization.

When Argentina's economy melted down last fall, the Bush administration decided to do little to help. The argument was that there was little danger of "contagion" of the financial problems spreading to other countries. How true that is will remain to be seen, but what is clear is that a political contangion of democratic protest against corporate power is sweeping through the region.
