Bill to Axe Hoover Name at FBI
Six Congressmen, led by GOPer Dan Burton (of Clinton-obsession fame), have introduced legislation to strip Hoover's name from the FBI building because, in the words of Burton:
"There is no reason we should honor a man who threw everything out the window, including the lives of innocent men, in order to get what he wanted."Burton is a crank but at least he got pointed in a useful way by his outrage over a particularly aggregious frame-up that Hoover participated it. Hoover is a disgrace to American history-- a racist who terrorized dissent for decades. Enjoy the Freepers going at it with each other over this issue.
Addendum: Corrected a typo (thanks Jeff) when I earlier wrote "John Burton" rather than Dan Burton-- the first being the liberal lion leading the California State Senate rather than a slightly psycho rightwinger from Indiana. Easy to confuse them :)

You mean Dan Burton. John Burton was a liberal Democrat.

Who are the other Congress Critters "teaming" up with the Pistol-Packing Melon-Killer Burton in this effort? And does he plan any other backyard "ballistic testing" to make his point?
