Europe Has Spoken- Sort Of

Well, Bush rounded up a few European leaders to write an oped in support of his march to war, but the broader democratic voice of Europe, its parliament, voted firmly against unilateral action by the United States.

The European Parliament resolution, passed 287 for, 209 against, stated "Breaches of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1441 currently identified by the inspectors with regard to weapons of mass destruction do not justify military action." It also said any pre-emptive strike by the US and its allies would violate international law and lead to a deeper crisis in the region.

It appears the WSJ approached Spanish PM Aznar to write the letter (with Berlusconi)...instead, Aznar wrote the letter and sent it to Blair to put the finishing touches on...

Question: Should the WSJ be running OP/EDs like this, etc...after all, they created the news about themselves, etc...
