Boycott of US Products?

On top of falling consumer confidence, unstable oil prices and the costs of war, the invasion of Iraq may lead to an even deeper damage to the US economy: a boycott of US goods worldwide:

The major risk for [US] high-profile firms is a boycott of US products, both in largely anti-war Europe and in the Middle East, where the prospects of war could cause a flare-up of anti-American sentiment.
Having destroyed the US economy ten ways to Sunday, Bush's botched international diplomacy is likely to lead to further unemployment.

Yeah, boycotting French fries was a really smart economic strategy by the House leadership.

Here's the facts. Far more American dollars leave America and go into the pockets of Europeans than come in from there to America. Go check the trade imbalance and see for yourself. So if Europe wants an economic war guess who the biggest loser will be?

Second, NO European nation has ever repaid their WW 1 or WW 2 war debts to the USA. Imagine what the compounded interest will be when we demand immediate repayment. I for one am ready to demand immediate repayment with interest.

So this boycott crap being fomented by ignorant fools in Europe is just another manifestation of their gross stupidity. If the USA demands our war debts how many European nations will go into bankruptcy? That includes FRANCE, GERMANY, BELGIUM, and any other loud mouthed nations from Europe who always seem to let America bail their butts out of trouble then kick us in the ass when we take a STAND against terrorism?

No one wants war. But people better wake up that America is NOT sitting back like those cowards did in Europe in the 40's and would be NAZI slaves today had it not been for America. Maybe they will wake up before its too late that this battle is really against International Marxists who along with Islamic radicals want to see the destruction of the western world including all those fools in Europe. But the next time around they can forget coming to the USA for help.

We will help Spain, Great Britain, and Portugal and the rest can go you know where. America has HAD IT WITH EUROPE. Especially FRANCE!

I'm not sure where you get your facts, but US imports and exports from Europe have been largely balanced over the years.

And Americans are usually quite unaware of which products are from Europe. They'd be more likely to boycott Yoplait (an American company) than Dannon (a French one).

But please rant on as terrorism is stoked by stupid American murder of Iraqi civilians, broadcast in realtime to the world. The idea that terrorism can be defeated by purely military means is the greatest delusion in history.
