A New CIO?

Unlikely, but a crew of the top organizing union leaders in the AFL-CIO are setting up a staffed committee to coordinate their organizing separate from the AFL-CIO itself.

Most interesting, the group includes both the progressive SEIU and HERE unions along with the outcast Carpenters union-- and the Teamsters may join as well. An odd brew of union held together by an impatience that unions need to focus in on organizing as their almost sole focus.
