Neiwert on Political Theocrats

This is a great piece outlining in depth the bizarro fringes of the religious right assault on the courts.

What I really don't get is Zell Miller rushing off the deep end. He used to strike me as a bit conservative, but in the sense of wanting to bridge between Democrats and moderate Republicans, but nows he's playing footsie with folks even the rightwing is disowning, like lawbreaking judge Roy Moore. See this Miller speech:

I stand shoulder to shoulder not only with my Senate co-sponsors and Chief Justice Roy Moore of Alabama but, more importantly, with our Founding Fathers in the conception of religious liberty and the terribly wrong direction our modern judiciary has taken us in.
Bizarro.
