Banning Books in North Carolina
Banning gay marriage isn't enough for the rightwing.
They want to ban discussion of the idea.
So a North Carolina Congressman is calling for a statewide ban from school libraries of a children's book that discusses two men marrying.
The rightwing complains that judges are undemining democracy by not waiting for a vote of elected representatives-- something my anti-judicial review views agree with -- but banning books and debate is even more anti-democratic.
