Action- Defend NY's Working Poor
Well, I spoke too soon when I said the working poor of New York were looking at a raise after the GOP-controlled state Senate overwhelmingly passed a minimum wage increase.
That b------ George Pataki vetoed the bill, choosing to play to his national ambitions in the GOP rather than the needs of hundreds of thousands of New York's workers.
The Working Families Party has a response page here, where if you are a New Yorker, you can easily find out how to contact your state Senator to demand that they hold an override vote. And, everyone, inside and outside the state, should email or fax Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno to demand that he hold the override vote.
His email: bruno@senate.state.ny.us
You can blind copy wfp@workingfamiliesparty.org
If you prefer to mail or fax: Sen. Joseph Bruno, 909 LOB, Albany NY 12247 or fax: 518-455-2448.
