Estate Tax Protects the Cheating Kin

The GOP has made a prime goal making sure large estates are passed onto the children and grandchildren of the wealthy, kin who did nothing to earn the money.

And what do those idle kin do with the money? At least one used the money to cheat and buy a college degree:

Wal-Mart heiress Elizabeth Paige Laurie is now no longer a graduate of the University of Southern California.

Laurie has returned her degree nearly a year after a former roommate alleged that Laurie had paid her $20,000 to do her homework.

Elena Martinez told ABC's "20/20" she'd written term papers and done assignments for Laurie for more than three years.

Laurie is the granddaughter of Wal-Mart co-founder Bud Walton.

The tragedy is that society didn't tax the inherited money in the first place and beef up financial aid for all college students.

That way, Wal-Mart hieresses could do their own damn homework, and other real students could concentrate on their own studies.
