[Torture] School of the Americas

Frank Joyce at TPMCafe reports on the protests at the School of the Americas in Georgia, the annual vigil against the military training school for Latin American police, whose graduates have murdered and tortured dissidents throughout the region in cooperation with the US.

Frank highlights the infamous Pentagon training manuals, which the government was forced to release in 1996. There is a collective amnesia by the press in discussing Iraqi torture methods without putting it in the context of the long history of military and CIA-associated torture and murder in foreign countries.
