Bush Using Airline Loans vs Unions

Okay, it was bad enough that Bush's bailout of the airlines last fall did nothing to help laid off workers. But the Bush administration has been using conditions on those loans to push attacks on union wages in the airline industry. As early as January, it was clear that Bush officials were using the loan guarantees to demand hardline negotiations against the airline unions. In current negotiations with the Machinists union, United has demanded a 10% cut in wages, because gaining those concessions was a requirement for qualifying for the loan guarantees by the government.

As Bush's buddies loot worker pension funds, it is typical that he is using his powers as President to lower their pay.
