Why "Whopper"? Lie is the word
Slate's Timothy Noah cites Karl Rove talking about Bush's tax plan in his "whopper of the week."
Now this is a normal feature, but the press does have so much trouble generally labelling what the Bush administration does?
It's called lying.
Nothing more polite or delicate.
