RightwingWatch Friday (7-26)

Roundup of doings on the Right - July 26

  • An Arizona anti-immigrant group is trying to get a church group investigated by the INS for its humanitarian aid to immigrants needing help in the desert.
  • Check out the Chamber of Commerce's new litigation work, including attacks on jury awards that punish corporate wrongdoing. Also check out what they see as their victories in defeating labor rights in court rooms.
  • Americans for Tax Reform have a new twist on condemning capital gains taxes - instead of condemning them for taking too much money from investors, ATR is attacking them because the government isn't collecting enough money because of a bad stock market.
  • NPR's Morning Edition has this show on the efforts of rightwingers in Texas over the years to censor textbooks. (Thanks to Eric Hallstrom)
